Every session we do is special to us, but I have to say that this particular engagement photo shoot holds a dear place in my heart, as Nicole is my very best girl friend and Michael is the one who has captured her heart of gold.
Nicole and I became friends in college, sitting next to each other in Chamber Singers and bonding over our love of Lawrence, flannel button-downs, and who even knows what else. So when she and Michael started hanging out and she gushed to me about how strongly she felt for him, that she thought he was the one, I had a feeling it wouldn’t be long before they had something to announce (if Michael knew what was good for him, that is). When I got the text from Nicole, complete with a photo of the drop-dead gorgeous ring Michael had given her, I could hardly wait until we were home to call her and have her tell me everything.
They wanted a meaningful location for their photos, and the Arboretum here in Lawrence, KS, is probably the best place they could have chosen. Not only is it just a beautiful spot for photos, this is also where Michael asked Nicole to be official with him, and where he brought her again to propose. So it was only fitting that we do a session of Arboretum engagement photos! We somehow managed to find the most gorgeous, temperate July evening for their session, full of warm light from the setting sun, and you can just tell immediately how much warmth, laughter, and love these two have for each other.
We are absolutely over the moon for Nicole and Michael, and could not be happier for them! We love you two!
The Arboretum is also a great location for a family portrait session!
