One of Emily’s old friends from high school sent us a referral to photograph his lovely lady Lindsey’s family over the holiday break, and they were probably the most laid back group of people we’ve ever encountered.
In the initial planning stages, we were hoping for some good old Kansas weather (read: unseasonably warm for the winter) so we could take photos out at Hobbs Park, but anyone who’s been experiencing this arctic blast knows that there was nooooo way of that happening. Especially not with two babies! Thankfully, everyone was super flexible and we cozied up instead at the parents’ house for a holiday family photo or two in front of the Christmas tree, and baking some holiday cookies.
While we’ve done a lot of smaller family photo sessions, this particular family is made up of 10 members and three generations! Parents/grandparents Paula and Bob recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, so they deserve a mega round of applause for creating such a dynamic (and photogenic) group of people. Within the family there were also not one, but two gorgeous babies (squeal!), so you can imagine that we were in heaven.
Michael and Sara are the parents of sweet Everett (pictured above with Paula), who is the proud owner of two darling bottom teeth, and Christin and Sarah have little Zephyr, who has the most pinch-able cheeks probably ever. Can you tell we’re a little baby crazy? And let’s not forget that fur-babies count too! When Lindsey and Malcolm weren’t shaping holiday cookies, they were kept busy wrangling Elliott, a black lab mix who could hardly contain the excitement of new people (and probably the smell of cats on our gear).
If you can’t tell, we had an absolute blast during this holiday family photo session. Happy New Year to this family, and to all of you!
