When we think of Jessica and LaVar, one word comes to mind: laughter.
Whether it’s the two of them cracking each other up, or both of us losing composure while trying to photograph them because they’ve got us in stitches, the laughs really never end. In our initial engagement photography session with them, that was something that Jessica really wanted to capture and believe us, it was not difficult to do.
Jessica and LaVar decided to follow the wedding tradition of not seeing each other until their first look, so we spent most of the early part of the day with Jessica and her bridal party as they got ready (and let’s face it, I was drooling over her insanely gorgeous gown. Check out that train! Look at that beading! *swoon*). As the first look approached, John Paul stayed on stage at the Carson Center with LaVar while I walked with Jessica to meet her soon-to-be-husband. The second that LaVar felt her hand on his back, both of them absolutely lit up and it was one of those moments that you look at a couple and marvel at how much they absolutely adore each other. And of course, within seconds they were both laughing.
Set onstage, the wedding procession walked down an aisle lined with white rose petals and floating candles, which were absolutely stunning against the backdrop of burgundy theater seats and curtains. The October afternoon light post-ceremony was a photographer’s dream for taking photos of the newly-wed couple, and it was probably a little too easy capturing those moments (since we had such amazing people to photograph!).
This was by far an elegant wedding in design and intention, balanced with an absolutely raging reception (which is the perfect combination!). We had such a wonderful time laughing with Jessica, LaVar, their friends and families, and couldn’t be more ecstatic for this amazing couple!
